About Us..

The Cat Doctor was the first feline-only hospital in Sonoma County and was established in 1987. 

It is a full-service veterinary hospital exclusively for cats.  Dr. Alice Simpson and her staff provide comprehensive medical, surgical and dental care, boarding, grooming, and bathing.  We also carry veterinary diets and special foods, proven flea control products such as Advantage and Frontline Plus, and cat supplies such as toys, colorful collars, decorator beds, grooming supplies, etc. 

At The Cat Doctor, we strive to not only offer sound and practical advice, but also optimal veterinary care, thus allowing you the enjoyment of your companion for a maximum number of years.  Our job is not only to treat your pet when he or she is not feeling well, but also to help you learn how to keep your best friend happy and healthy.

We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house laboratory testing and the use of external laboratories.  We also work closely with local practices when special diagnostic procedures are required.  The facility includes a pharmacy, in-hospital surgery and dental suites, in-house x-ray capabilities, a closely supervised hospitalization area, and a veterinary-supervised boarding kennel.

We believe in client education and involving owners in medical decisions.  We believe that most pet owners want what is best for their pet and that our job is to help owners make choices that are in the best interest of their cat, which in the end are also in the best interest of the owner.  

We recognize and celebrate the human-animal bond.  We help cats live good quality, long lives, so that owners can enjoy the companionship of their cat for as long as possible.
